Working in the audiovisual market for over 17 years, Iury Pinto, Director, Editor and Screenwriter, graduated in Design and Animation in 2008 and in Cinema from the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles, USA in 2014, where he recorded some films, including “Detectives Should Never Fall in Love”.
Iury worked for 12 years at TV Globo, where he led the editing of numerous successful projects, including the soap opera “Velho Chico” and the television film “Alexandre and other heroes”, both nominated for an International Emmy, as well as the series “Ilha de Ferro” , which was featured in the “best in the world” category by the renowned Americana magazine Variety.
In 2020 Iury left TV Globo to invest in his career as Director and Screenwriter at his production company, Asas Realizações, where he has already carried out several authorial projects, including the film “Baile de Máscaras”, a medium-length film written, directed and edited by He, who received the title of Hors Concours at the Rio Festival in 2021 (largest film festival in Latin America) and collects 29 awards around the world from the national and international film festivals he has attended.
Currently, in addition to maintaining his activity as Director and Screenwriter at his production company, Iury continues to use his editing expertise by getting involved in projects from major studios such as Disney/StarPlus, Netflix, Paramount and GloboPlay.
EDITING
Iury Pinto specialized in drama editing, having spent most of his career editing series, films and soap operas in this genre.
At TV Globo he was chief editor of several projects, and throughout his career he has worked with award-winning directors such as Luiz Fernando Carvalho, Afonso Poyart, Walter Carvalho, Carlos Saldanha, among others.
On the technical side, Iury specialized in the AVID platform, where he has been operating the editing software for over 15 years, with all official certifications issued by the manufacturer.
His artistic background as an animator and his experience as a director also contribute greatly to a different vision of the editing process, which promotes a vast exchange of ideas, in order to propose creative solutions and further enhance the final quality of the work.

DIRECTING
Iury began his career as a director in 2008, directing video clips and advertising campaigns in audiovisual producers in Rio de Janeiro.

Upon returning to Brazil, Iury created the production company Asas Realizações, which has been developing several projects in the areas of advertising and cinema for 8 years.
The most recent film released by the production company and directed by Iury, is “Baile de Máscaras”, a medium-length film written, directed and edited by him, which in 2021 received the title of Hors Concours at the Rio Festival (largest film festival in Rio de Janeiro). STOP MOTION AND ANIMATION
Passionate about animation since he was a child, Iury discovered an aptitude for sculpting at a young age.
At the University, he created and led a research and study center in animation, AnimaCarioca.
Before completing his Design studies, Iury directed his first advertising campaign using the Stop Motion animation technique, which received great recognition, generating an invitation for him to take over the college’s model Design office.
Upon graduating, he began to dedicate his career to “Live Action” cinema, but never left aside his love for animation.
When he joined Tv Globo, he had the opportunity to animate a vignette for the TV Globinho program, and today, he uses all of this background as creative inspiration for his projects.
